Encouraging Your Child to Love and Understand Science

There are so many ways to encourage a love for science in your child. Children are naturally curious about everything around them, and science is a natural outlet for them. You and your child would like to enjoy some of the following activities.

Lead your child to use scientific methods to solve everyday problems, ranging from conflict resolution with a brother or sister, explaining who is leaving toothpaste in the bathroom sink every morning. These five basic steps in the scientific method: one, the state problem. Two, form hypotheses. Three, observation and experiment. Four, to interpret the data, and five, to draw conclusions. You may find yourself raising a regular Sherlock Holmes.

Teach your child how to help you in the garden and yard. Let learn how to use basic tools. You can conduct experiments in a flowerbed, such as observation and measurement of any fertilizer improves growth of certain colors. You can create a collection of insects, leaves, stones, shells or other things. Customize feed the birds and use guide to learn the names of all species of birds that come to him.

Learn about the weather and make the weather, temperature and humidity observations. Where is thunder and lightning come from? Learn about the stars, moon and sun. Find answers to questions like: Why do stars seem to twinkle and why the moon seems to change. How far is the sun? Campground for lunar eclipses, or to observe meteor showers. Studies of the human body and all major organs and systems of the body: bones, muscles, nerves, digestive system and skin. Learn about reproduction from conception to birth. Learn about microbes and viruses, and how the body fights them.

Experiment with Lupu, magnets, cameras, pulleys, wheels and gears. When a child shows interest to invest in a good microscope or a telescope can be fun. Take things apart, like door handle, for example, and see how it works. Take a look inside the toilet tank and see what makes it flow. Before you throw a way the old radio or toaster, take it apart and see what we can learn about it.

When they visit, ask other adults, you know, to talk with your child about what they know, especially things like how they use science and mathematics at work.
