GIS Mapping – A Key Component to Natural Resource Management

GIS mapping used worldwide cities large and small and large countries and small, to preserve the delicate balance of ecosystems and urban forests. GIS numerous, well-developed applications in the natural sciences, especially in forestry, ecology, biology, nature and geology. In addition, GIS is an effective, if not indispensable tool for the management of modern governance Park, with some of the big, well known parks to get millions of visitors a year. GIS helps park managers are managers of resources and implementation of scientific research, maintenance, modeling and management on a daily basis. Most likely, the city you live has its’ parks in the GIS.

Natural resource management is a multidisciplinary, basic science field that balances economic and environmental considerations. Since there is a strong research component of resource management, GIS mapping is used for modeling and managing wildlife populations, growth and harvesting of timber, as well as manage the quality of the environment. Water resources, fall into this category, where GIS is an important tool for identifying pollution sources and solutions, relevant state and federal environmental laws. One example is the use of Sacramento County GIS mapping to identify nonpoint sources of water pollution, land use, that contribute most to pollution and evaluation plans related scenarios to mitigate and reduce these sources. Not all decisions GIS mapping must be complicated. In fact, many solutions are fairly simple, but can not be solved without a GIS due to the fact he represents the data geographically, or spatially. A simple map showing the location of heavy metals fulfilling factories in close proximity to open water, is an example. It is not difficult to create maps, but also the visual impact is evident even for beginners.
